Bostik's Best is a
one-part, trowel-applied, moisture-cure, urethane adhesive. Once cured,
its superior elastomeric properties provide a tough, flexible,
tenacious bond to a variety of surfaces. The elastomeric
characteristics of Bostik's Best allow the adhesive to move with wood
as it expands and contracts. This scientifically-formulated adhesive is
not affected by exposure to moisture or water. Bostik's Best contains
no chlorinated solvents or ozone depleting chemicals. It complies with
all current state and federal regulations for Volatile Organic
Compounds (V.O.C. Compliant). Bostik's Best is currently the number one
selling urethane in the hardwood market.
You need special nails to
install a wood floor and powernail is the industry leader. There are
5000 nails in a box and it should cover 800 - 1000 SF for a 2 1/4 board.
Staples are another way to
install wood flooring. They are epoxy coated so that they don't pull
out with seasonal movements. They can only be used in Bostitch's
flooring stapler, which is air driven for ease of installation.
Even though you may have a
perfect installation never be without your putty. This product is
designed for unfinished floors but could be used with prefinished. You
must wipe off the surface of prefinished wood immediately after you
apply it. When using it with unfinished products, after it dries, sand
the excess off.
Used to change direction.
Slip this piece of wood into the groove of flooring and it makes a
tongue out of the groove. No top nails needed to change the direction
of the floor. Now you can blind nail the other side and avoid over wood
and top nails in the center of the room. No glue needed as well.
Install like a professional. You can make your own but why lose a finger
a vapor barrior
underlayment is recommended for all flooring installations. Felt paper
is the minimum we recommend. It is not good for floors installed over
radiant heat. There are four reasons to use an underlayment.
A Toe Kick Saw can save
you alot of time if you need to take out a subfloor in a kitchen. This
machine allows you to cut plywood underneath the cabinet face.
a Jamb saw makes your job
easier. It allows you to cut your door jambs to the right height making
the floor slide under the jamb easier. It can also be used to cut doors
left right on the hinge. Remember to always score and tape a hollow
birch door so that chipping does not occur along the cut and don't cut
it too short leave approximately 1/4 inch between the floor and the
door.
Foam underlayment used
under all floating floors. Helps to prevent squeeks and adds a soft
feel to the floor. Essential to the adequate performance of any
floating floor installation. Acts as a vapor barrior as well. 400 SF
